This morning you will be transferred to the train station for your train to Naples. Relax and explore this quaint town. People-watch at a cafe while drinking, “grantita di limone,” the Sorrentine drink with crushed ice and fresh lemon juice.Day 6, 7 & 8: Sorrento
Days at leisure. Take a drive along the Amalfi Coast, one of the most beautiful in the world. Stop at the charming town of Positano overlooking a small bay. Visit Pompeii to see the excavations of the Roman City buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Don’t miss a day on the exciting island of Capri! Dotted with grottos, abounding in olive trees and vineyards, it is truly a small paradise encircled by a crystal clear deep blue sea. Afternoon Walking Tour of Imperial Rome: Colosseum, Palatine, Roman Forum
Begin your tour with the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic sights. Your guide will share his expertise in history and archaeology and speak of the legendary gladiators and the emperors who decided their fates. You will learn how this incredible amphitheater once hosted re-enactments of sea battles. Then explore Palatine Hill, the spot where brothers Remus and Romulus battled over who would found the first empire, and where Romulus founded the city that would become Rome. The tour ends at the Roman Forum – the heart of Ancient Rome and home to the bustling marketplace ruled by moneylenders and shopkeepers.
