Day 1: Arrival [Dinner] (Friday)Benvento in Italia! Upon arrival, you will be met and privately transferred to your hotel. Spend the remainder of your day at leisure exploring the Eternal City. Rome is excellent for walking and there are many unique neighborhoods to explore. Sample a gelato while leisurely strolling Piazza Navona! In the late afternoon meet your tour escort at the hotel bar where you will receive valuable information about your tour and the cities and towns that you are about to visit. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Rome.
Day 2: Heart of Rome & Vatican [Breakfast] (Saturday)After breakfast, meet your guide who will accompany you on a walking tour of the heart of Rome with visits to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Baroque quarter. After lunch on your own, transfer to the Vatican for a guided visit. Vatican art and history have always left a profound impression on its’ visitors: discover the masterpieces of Greek and Roman ancient art, works of Raphael, Michelangelo and Caravaggio, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. Return to your hotel. Dinner on your own or you have the option to meet your escort to walk along the narrow streets of ancient Rome and enjoy a tasty dinner at a local restaurant (See Rome Optional Tours). Overnight in Rome.
Day 3: Sunday (Rome [Breakfast])Full day at leisure. The streets of Rome are full of pieces of art waiting for you to discover! Toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain to guarantee your return to Rome. You have the option of an afternoon walking tour of Imperial Rome including the Colosseum, Palatine and Roman Forum (See Rome Optional Tours). Overnight in Rome.
Day 4: Pompeii/Sorrento [Breakfast, Lunch] (Monday)Transfer to Sorrento with a stop at Pompeii for a visit to the best preserved 2,000-year old ruins in Europe. Walk along the streets and see the remains of the houses and shops that Vesuvio destroyed in AD 79. See history come to life! After enjoy a light lunch and wine-tasting on the Vesuvio Volcano where you will take in the spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples. Continue to Sorrento. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 5: Amalfi & Ravello [Breakfast] (Tuesday)Your full-day guided tour of the Amalfi Coast centers on Amalfi and Ravello and combines the magnificent landscapes with the local culture of food and wines. Lear of Amalfi's rich maritime history and then visit cliffs where lemon trees are cultivated. After picking your own lemons, prepare a fresh squeezed lemonade "Amalfi style." Continue to Ravello, one of the loveliest resorts on the Amalfi Drive. Ravello has attracted artists, writers and celebrities--Richard Wagner composed operas here. Ravello is known for its beautiful villas and spectacular views. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 6: Sorrento [Breakfast] (Wednesday)Full day at leisure to visit additional towns dotted along the Amalfi Coast or shop for magnificent ceramics or tasty limoncello. Or grab your towel and people-watch on one of the many Amalfi Coast beaches. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 7: Capri [Breakfast] (Thursday)Today, visit magical Capri! Soak up the romantic atmosphere and panoramic scenery on your guided visit to this famous jet-set island. Capri is an enchanting and picturesque island and a favorite of the Roman emperors, the rich and famous, artists, and writers. It is still one of the Mediterranean's must-see places. Overnight in Sorrento.

If group consists of fewer than 7 participants, the tour will be operated with a tour host. The tour host will visit guests daily and assist with check-in and check-out. The tour host will escort guests to restaurants and is available 24 hours by toll-free telephone. The tour host will not accompany guests. An English-speaking driver will accompany group. Sightseeing will not be private and guests may join a scheduled tour with possibly more than 16 participants

Afternoon Walking Tour of Imperial Rome: Colosseum, Palatine, Roman ForumBegin your tour with the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic sights. Your guide will share his expertise in history and archaeology and speak of the legendary gladiators and the emperors who decided their fates. You will learn how this incredible amphitheater once hosted re-enactments of sea battles. Then explore Palatine Hill, the spot where brothers Remus and Romulus battled over who would found the first empire, and where Romulus founded the city that would become Rome. The tour ends at the Roman Forum – the heart of Ancient Rome and home to the bustling marketplace ruled by moneylenders and shopkeepers. Here politicians held rallies before elections, soldiers marched triumphantly down the Sacred Way and the Vestal Virgins decided if men lived or died.
Sunset Walk & Dinner in RomeEnjoy a guided 45-minute walk in the heart of Rome and will learn about the Italian culture, its highly-acclaimed cuisine and way of living. After the walking tour, dine at a local Italian Trattoria where you will enjoy a 3-course meal.
