Day 1: Depart the U.S. for Athens
Board your flight to Athens.

Day 2: Athens
Yassou! You will be privately transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Stroll through the Plaka area where buildings have been restored to their original splendor and enjoy lunch at one of the tavernas.

Day 3: Athens
Enjoy a morning tour of Athens, including the Acropolis and its Museum. Afternoon of leisure.

Day 4: Athens / Paros
You will be privately transferred to Piraeus for your ferry/hydrofoil to Paros. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 5: Paros
Visit the Moratis Winery. Tour the production areas, roam around the vineyards and sample the award-winning wines. Later explore Naousa, a beautiful fishing village. Stop in its picturesque port and enjoy local delicacies with local wines and ouzo in the traditional tavernas.

Day 6: Paros / Santorini
After you are transferred from your hotel to the pier, ferry/hydrofoil to Santorini where you pick up your rental car. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Caldera in Santorini, the diamond of Greece!

Day 7: Santorini
The Greek goddess, Demeter, was credited for teaching humans how to prepare grain.  Today, you will draw from her teachings in your cooking class at a Cliffside restaurant that overlooks Aegean using all local products.  Sample four local wines and enjoy lunch.

Day 8: Santorini
Toast Dionysus, the god of wine and festivity, as you tour two local wineries and sample the wines. The balance of the day is free to explore Santorini, thought to be the lost continent of Atlantis.

Day 9: Santorini
A day at leisure on this stunningly beautiful island! Don’t forget to visit one of its unique black sandy beaches.

Day 10: Santorini / Crete
Return your rental car and take the ferry/hydrofoil to Crete. Upon arrival, pick up you rental car and drive to your hotel.

Day 11: Crete
A free day in Crete. Visit Knossos Palace, the home of the mythical Labyrinth of the Minotaur monster and King Minos, or explore the quaint town of Chania.

Day 12: Crete
Today, the goddess Demeters influence is again present as you enjoy the Tastes of Crete, a hands-on journey through Cretes culinary traditions. Set in an 18th century farmhouse surrounded by organic gardens, you will learn to prepare a number of Cretan dishes directed by a local cook. Enjoy the fruits of your labor along with Cretan wines and cheese tasting.

Day 13: Crete
Visit the beautiful province of Keramia with a number of picturesque little villages. Stop at the archaeological site of Aptera and proceed to the tiny village of Drakona. Continue along the foot of the White Mountains to the historic village of Therisso. Lunch is at Zourva, a family-owned taverna with wonderful views. The last stop is at the village of Meskla to see a typical small chapel with frescoes.

Day 14: Crete / Home
Return your rental car at Chania Airport before your flight to Athens to connect with your transatlantic flight.

Discover the wealth of history and first class wineries the main land has to offer. Imagine a day visiting Olympia, the site of the first Olympic Games, topped off with a visit to the Mercouri Winery. Visit their vineyards and olive groves and sample their award-winning Reds and Sauvignon Blancs. Or visit the picturesque town of Nauplion. Nearby is the wine-making town of Nemea, famous in ancient times as the place where Hercules slew the Lion of Nemea. Today, the red wines are locally referred to as “Hercules’ Blood.” Self-drive itineraries are available. Please inquire.
