Day 1: New York / Cairo (Friday)
Enjoy your overnight flight to Cairo.

Day 2: Cairo (Saturday)
Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: Cairo (Sunday)
Begin your day with a visit to the famous Egyptian Museum of antiquities. Lunch at the historic Mena House. Continue to the plateau of Giza to visit the Great Pyramids. Enter one of the Great Pyramids and see the famous and timeless Sphinx. Continue to Old Cairo and the Khan El Khalili Bazaar. (B, L)

Day 4: Cairo/Aswan (Monday)
Morning transfer for a flight to Aswan. Optional tour to Abu Simble available: Visit the magnificent site of the two rock Temples of Ramses II and his Queen Nefertari. Upon arrival in Aswan, you will be transferred to your Sonesta ship. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful felucca ride (sailing boat) to view the Elephantine Island, the Botanical Garden and the impressive Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D)


The Sphinx

Day 5: Aswan / Edfu / (Tuesday)
After breakfast, visit the High Dam and the Granite Quarries, site of the Unfinished Obelisk. Then, visit the Temple of Philae, shrine of the goddess Isis. The boat sails to Kom Ombo where you will visit the Greco- Roman Temple of Kom Ombo. Sail to Edfu and overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Edfu / Luxor (Wednesday)
This morning in Edfu, travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Edfu. Sail to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Luxor (Thursday)
Cross the Nile to the Valley of the Kings and the Queens. Visit the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Stop at the site of the Colossi of Memnon, visit to the Temple of Karnak, the largest religious complex in the world, where the ancient Pharaohs recorded their glory on its walls, columns and obelisks. Continue to visit the Temple of Luxor with its elegant colonnaded hall. Overnight in Luxor. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Luxor / Cairo (Friday)
Disembark and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight in Cairo. (B)

Day 9: Cairo / New York (Saturday)
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
